Featured maps - Creating a map was never so easy!

31 May 2018

You may, or may not, have noticed that we have started sharing content with you. Examples of projects we shared in the past are: the Royal Wedding, the Giro D’Italia and the Russian Elections. Until now we shared the content with you through email, blogposts and social media. Because we want to make this experience as easy as possible for you, we added a new feature to the tool: featured maps.

What are featured maps?

‘Featured maps’ is the general name for the content we share with you. So basically, it are maps we already created for you about upcoming events. These maps are free for you to use wherever. The data behind the maps had been checked and the rights to use, for example, the images are also free.

Where can I find featured maps?

When you login to your Maps4News account, you automatically go to the Dashboard. Here you can create a new map or work on your saved maps. When you look at your ‘Saved Maps’ section, you can also find two more map sections ,‘Company Maps’ (coming soon) and ‘Featured Maps’. If you click on ‘Featured Maps’ you’ll find a new section with various maps. Right now, you’ll find maps for the FIFA World Cup 2018. Click on one of the maps to import it to your account. You can select your preferred map style, change texts and add or delete icons.

What events are selected for featured maps?

At the moment we select the ‘featured map’-topics by looking at upcoming, big, world-wide events. If they somehow have a geographical interest, we’ll create a map about it. Right now, we will share the content with you at least a week prior to the event but we strive to do this at least two weeks in advance.

If you feel like there is an event coming up that you would like to see a featured map from, don’t hesitate to reach out to info@maps4news.com
